In this paper, we present A-dur, a tool for calculating duration of actions expressed in Japanese language. A-dur was created in order to be implemented into emotional and social consequences text mining system. However it potentially can be used as a stand-alone time distance calculation solution. It utilizes an extendable temporal expression rules database handcrafted to the system$B!G(Bs specifications. We also present the results of our preliminary experiments estimating the database accuracy.
