******* Organized Workshop ************************************************** Cubes for Innovation: Information Systems for Design and Marketing (The presentation titles below are tentative) *********************************************************************************** DATE: 3 March (Saturday), 2007 VENUE: Lecture Hall 212, Engineering Building 2, The University of Tokyo See http://www.t.u-tokyo.ac.jp/etpage/access/inside.html Sponsors: School of Business Sciences The University of Tsukuba, IEEE SMC Society, Japan Section Technical Committee on Information Technologies for Design and Marketing, IEEE SMC Society Scope: Three cubic building blocks of systems innovation in business will be discussed. The I-cube is focused on the cognitive aspect of group-thinking in successful enterprize. The D-cube is focused on data-based decision methods applied to marketing and design. Data visualization techniques may relate the D-cube to the I-cube. Finally, the C-cube is concerned about communication in a creative human group. We present each speaker's study and exchange informal ideas about the three cubes, and systematic process of innovation on the combination of the I, D, and C cubes. *** Titles are tentative ***** 10:00 INTRODUCTION AND WORKSHOP SCOPE Tri-Cube Building Blocks for Systems Innnovation Yukio Ohsawa, The University of Tokyo Sessin 1) 10:30-12:30 I-CUBE : INSIGHT, INVENTION, and INNOVATION Innovation and Systems Thinking Matjaz Mulej, University of Maribor, Slovenia Chance Discovery for Cognition in Design Yukio Ohsawa, The University of Tokyo, Japan Session 2) 13:30-15:30 D-CUBE: DISCOVERY, DECISION, and DESIGN Data Crystallization and Applications to Design and Art Yoshiharu Maeno, University of Tsukuba, Tokyo Discovery of Anticipatory Events Chang Kuiyu, Nanyang Technological University, Signapore Session 3) 15:40 - 18:40 C-CUBE: COMMUNITY, CONSENSUS, and CREATIVITY) Metasynthesis and Community Xijin Tang, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China Consensus Supports in Decision Making Group Yasuyuki Sumi, Kyoto University, Japan Information Technologies for Supporting Human Innovation and Creativity: The Evolutionary Path Xavier Llora, University of Illinois, USA Contact Organizer: Yukio Ohsawa, The Chair of IEEE SMC Technical Commitee on Information Systems for Design and Marketing http://www.ieeesmc.org/technicalcommittess/tc_isdm.html e-mail: ohsawa@q.t.u-tokyo.ac.jp
