Special session on ``AI techniques toward information systems''
Some day during July 22-25, 2001
Orlando, Florida USA
Sheraton World Resort
28 Mar. 2001 updated.
Deadline is extended!!
Organizer:
- Akinori Abe
- NTT MSC (ave@cslab.kecl.ntt.co.jp)
Recently, various sorts of AI theories and techniques have been developed.
Some of them have been integrated or shown their relationships. Others have
changed their forms.
Anyway, we have introduced many AI techniques. They are useful and some of
them seem to be utilized in the real world systems.
However, a lot of AI theories and techniques need applications that can be
applied. Also, a lot of applications need techniques that can be achieved by
AI theories and techniques.
Last year can be thought of as the first year when IT (Information Technology)
was widely recognized. We think AI can contribute to ``so called'' IT.
In this session, we would like to focus on AI techniques toward information
systems. Especially, we would like to focus on the following topics.
Of course,
other topics are welcome, if they are related to AI or (intelligent) information systems.
- (intelligent) information systems using the AI's techniques
- AI techniques for (intelligent) information systems
- prediction
- abduction
- induction
- probabilistic modeling etc.
- knowledge assimilation, discovery and learning
- belief revision
- constraint reasoning
- multi-agent
- AI techniques for internet
- intelligent support systems for handicapped persons
- etc.
Submissions are invited on previously unpublished research. The format
requirements are:
- Extended abstracts format (in a plain text, PostScript or PDF):
- Major theme of the paper, related to the major themes given above.
- Paper title.
